Whether you have a great deal of horse handling experience or whether you are new to the ways of horse handling you will learn practical and personal skills that will build your confidence around horses and beyond. Carry out regular horse observation Provide daily care for horses Ride and care for horses and equipment Load and unload animals Handle horses safely Demonstrate basic horseriding skills Apply principles of basic anatomy and physiology to horses Carry out basic hoof care procedure and dentition Transport livestock Implement animal health control programs Administer prescribed medicine Supervise horse handling Apply first aid for horses Demonstrate horse riding skills in tracked areas Guide day horse trail rides in tracked areas Educate, ride and care for horses and equipment Prevent and treat equine injury and disease Select and manage horses for beginner riders Determine nutritional requirements for horses Plan conditioning and training programs for horses Train and condition horses for trail rides Demonstrate horseriding skills in remote or wilderness areas Manage horse illness/injuries in remote areas Guide trail rides in a broad range of situations Train small groups Instruct trail horse riding skills Trail horse riding – Management Manage plant, equipment and property for stables Manage the education of horses
