ABOUT AUTISM FOCUS
AUTISM FOCUS was created to help
address the difficulties teachers, parents
and carers face with dealing effectively
with children with autism or Asperger's
Syndrome. We believe the key to unlocking
the barriers to social and intellectual
participation in school and life is
understanding the impact cognitive,
sensory and communication disabilities
have on the individual with autism.
AUTISM FOCUS aims to help teachers,
parents, teacher aides and carers
overcome the difficulties they face
when dealing with children with autism
through:
- Understanding Autism
- Creating effective teaching and
learning strategies - Catering for the child's individual needs
- Learning about visual teaching,
managing obsessive behaviour and
accommodating sensory disorders - Addressing behaviour problems
